comparing

Many people are very good at permanently comparing themselves with others, e.g. “I am older and therefore more experienced than you.”, “I earn more than you.”, “We have more order at home.”, etc. What for? The preconscious motives to this can be for example: security through superiority, being worth something, being important, having a right to exist.
Do you compare yourself? What for? What is your preconscious motive to compare?
Suppose your motive would be guaranteed and your next meeting would just be about the encounter itself and its occasion, what would this comparison-free encounter be like?
And – if you notice that your conversation partner is getting in comparisons – what you could do so s/he gets out of it?
